iPhone 6 with a 4.7" screen?

Yikes. Too big IMO (my argument is that Apple tends to make smaller phones, so 4.5" would probably be more right). Also there needs to be a little bezel on the side to prevent mis-touches. It also makes it difficult for cases to have a front lip, which is critical to prevent screen breakage.

Looks cool if it's real (been lots of cool looking fake iPhones in the past).

iOS already has a feature to recognize the difference between accidental finger touches in the edge (a feature needed for the iPad mini/Air). So I don't think the tiny bezel will be a problem.

Even with a 4.7" screen, it'll be tiny with a bezel like that. The Moto X (4.7") is smaller than a Galaxy S2 (4.3") and the bezel on that "leak" is even smaller, by the looks of it.

Agreed.

From the blurrcam shots of the casing, they look to be borrowing design cues from HTC again.

An iPhone 6 with a 4.5-7 inch screen with the design of the 5S would be a thing of beauty.

LOL. Finally Samsung can sue for Apple trying to copy them and have a real valid argument!

Yes. It looks like a galaxy phone. If it had an oblong home button instead of a round one I'd think it was a samsung device.

Don't worry, Apple is still going to sue Samsung (or some other company), just because it's Apple and what they came up with is always the best! Sometimes not the first, but always the best! Anyone who said otherwise don't know what they're talking about. Everybody knows this!

At any rate, it's a fake:

The round button seems to take up too much room in light of how the rest of the bottom bezel just sits there being empty. Putting it on the back would give them so much more space to play with. Question is, of course, would LG just be going to let them do that.

Anyway, yeah its fake, but my guess is it'll look almost just like this. Apart from shrinking the bezels and growing the screen apple will probably play it safe and stick to its already popular design style.

How old is her iphone? During the week with heavy usage and exchange traffic I still make it through a day easily. On the weekend I don't even have to charge.

I'm not hoping for anything too massive. Just get up to at least 4.3-4.5 and I'll be happy. Without sacrificing battery life of course.

I think Android diehards vastly underestimate the impact of a larger Apple phone. I wager a high % of Samsung users weren't have bought Samsung at all if Apple had a large iPhone to begin with. Pretty amazing how Apple managed to held up so well without using their last trump card.

Question is, are they too late? How many tens of millions of GS3/4/Note 2/3 buyers has Samsung stolen away from Apple that are now used to that ecosystem and function.

I went from an iPhone4 to a Note 2. My wife upgraded to a 5s and I'm interested, but ultimately can't bring myself back to Apple. Too used to Android now. Swype, divorced from iTunes finally, app sharing, SD card access and file explorers.

Once you get some freedom it's hard to go back. Oh, and I do not like iOS7 at all. Safari was very frustrating to me after having a very easy to use and functional Chrome browser. It felt like a step backwards from iOS6.

If that's real, it will be the first iPhone that I think looks awesome. But the OS would still keep me away.

Not at all. I don't think Android phone users are all that loyal. 1920x1280 or 2272x1280? I'm betting 1920x1280 for iPhone 6.

I completely agree, not the first sentence, but the rest of your post. I think Android users know this already (the fact that a lot of people just simply want larger screens), it's Apple diehards that's vastly underestimated the high percentage of people who would have stayed with Apple if that option were available.

One thing that I'm really interested to hear is what kind of spin they're going to come up with (of finally having a large screen, after such a long time basically looking down at the biggies). I know for sure that it's going to be an awesome spin that all Apple diehards in the whole world can support, so I'm really looking forward to it. Somehow it's going to be the best phone with larger than 4" screen, ever :D

Apple has been working quietly to rewrite history. Remember all the crap about one hand usage and how 3.5" was the perfect size for the thumb to reach the top of the screen? Notice how Apple went silent on that BS and now say they were never opposed to larger than 4" iPhone. They now claim they were simply waiting for screen technology to catch up.

Apple iPhone Event said:
When we released the iPhone, we put a lot of thought in to making it the perfect size so that it could easily be used with one hand. When we increased the size of the iPhone 5, we did it knowing that it wouldn't impact one-handed use. While a lot of our competitors release larger and larger screens on their phones every year, they're becoming increasingly harder to use with one hand.

So much so, that they have to rely on gimmicks in order to compensate for the larger screen. Buttons on the back of the phone, shake gestures to navigate the operating system, third party keyboards that take up half the screen, etc, etc... these are all crazy ideas that don't work well.

When we set out to create an iPhone with a larger screen, we made sure to pay paticular attention to the one handed operation of the device and we think we've compensated for the larger screen in a fantastic way.

A lot of people don't know this, but we actually already calibrate the iPhone's touch sensor for how you hold it. This is something our competitors don't do. They go for straight on presses. We've actually changed the touch points on our screen to compensate for your viewing angle. When you're holding the phone and using it, you're generally not using it straight on. There's almost always an angle in the way you hold you phone so we compensate for that angle by making sure your touches hit the area you intended to hit which may not be the area you actually touched.

So for the brand new iPhone 6 and iPhone 6+, we've taken this methodology to a whole new level. When you hold the iPhone 6 in your hand, sensors inside the phone automatically detect which hand is holding the device and adjusts the touch targets on the screen to compensate for the larger screen. So when you hold it in your left hand, the targets shift over to the left. When you hold it in your right hand, they shift to the right. When you're holding it with both hands, the phone will detect that and will adjust accordingly.

We do this through some fantastic software in conjunction with the amazing M7 motion chip inside each and every new iPhone now. The M7 chip offloads all that work from the A8 processor and gives instant feedback to the software about how the phone is being held. And we use the spectacular parallax perspective in iOS 8 to show the shifting of the letters on the keyboard or buttons in apps so that you know the phone is working with you. It's an extension of your thumb as opposed to it's enemy.

We think it's a fantastic solution to the problem of larger screens on phones and we can't wait for you to try it out. We think that, when you do, you'll agree that the screen has been designed for the device as opposed to just taking a phone and putting a bigger screen on it. We're really excited about it and we think all the iPhone users will be too.

I'm probably a little bored during Snowmageddon 2014.
