Anyone getting hard locks on their phone? Requiring soft reset (holding power and home button till reset)

Its done this since release day. Also swiftkey locks up, doesn't show up or swipe function doesn't always work. When it works its good....

Just came back from a 1 year android experiment and was switching back to iOS due to android locking up about 2-4 times a month. Also thought iOS was just smoother experience but with this 6 it is not. Its worse than Andorid and my old 4S.

Going to try to restore to factory, not install swiftkey, and see how it goes. But only have 5 days to make decision.

3rd party keyboard support is a bit buggy. I have issues with swype on a 5s as well. However I guess I don't know if is an OS problem or keyboard problem.

Yes, on my 5. Got so annoying because I have to re-enable full access for Swiftkey that I ended up removing Swiftkey entirely. Now I'm back to non-swipe (aka two-hand) typing on a a small phone. :(

yeah i installed swiftkey but i turned it off because it's buggy. it doesn't really save me any time either so i'm probably not going to turn it on again.

i've never had a problem typing with 1 hand using my thumb on an iphone, especially the 4 that i was using for 3.5 years before my 6.

It's not that you can't type one-handed, it's that it is very slow compared to swipe style typing.

It's the very first thing I always make sure is working on any Android phone I have. Without it I feel like I'm back in the stone age of smartphone use.

yeah i can type just as fast (if not faster) with 1 handed thumb on a normal keyboard then using swipe. probably just because i'm used to it and not used to swipe. also, making mistakes with swipe is a lot longer to correct than it is when pressing each key, because you don't have to go back to the beginning of the word to fix it, you just go back 1 letter.

I was never a fan of Swype (was in the Android beta) years ago. I haven't installed any third party keyboards and haven't had a hard or soft lockup.

Hmm glad I read this I was about to buy swype on app store.

I uninstalled swiftkey, and the phone seem to stop locking up since. Until this morning, just locked up had to hold power and home to reset.

Very very close to returning and waiting for, the next big thing, lol. Not really but sticking with my LG G2 and waiting for another phone that excites me. If this iP6 was smooth like it should be I wouldn't be thinking about return. But constant app crashes and OS lockups has left a really bad taste in my mouth. Maybe iOS 8 just wasn't ready.

Maybe there's a problem with your phone. Mine hasn't locked up once since I got it.

That's only because you aren't used to swipe style typing, believe me it's faster when you get the hang of it, and I'm comparing it against two hand typing. One thumb typing does not even compare.

Disable Swiftkey.

disabled and uninstalled. Locked up twice since. Opening settings seems to do it. Sometimes I open settings and its just a blank screen. Will restore once I get home and hope that fixes it. Still got a 4 more days to return...

Mine is fine. I once got a brand new G1 that locked up every 10 mins. Returned it for another and it was fine. Sometimes you just get faulty hardware.

well exchanged it. It is a lot better now. But still has locked up twice in 7 days. But that was during tethering with an old usb cable, still dont think it should have done it.

Will someone JB this thing now.
