iPhone 6 and 6 Plus case/bumper options

I'd like to see the case and bumper options you intend to use OTHER than those Apple has already shared with us.

Personally, I want to combine a bumper with a skin that only covers the back but I haven't seen anything to accomplish this yet.

Back in 2011 I combined an official iPhone 4 bumper case with a cheap Chinese leather skin that only covered the back glass and had an Apple logo cut in it. It was very hard to align properly but I did. I protected the original logo from scratches with a bit of tape before applying the leather skin.

Part of the problem is that all of the so-called "bumper ring case" products I find are NOT bumpers because they cover everything but the screen. SlickDeals.net has one on the front page now and they are perpetuating the misinformation and making it even harder to find what I want! Thanks to the wrap-around continuous design including the screen, I am hoping bumpers are actually designed to only have a raised lip at the top and bottom (how I always thought they should be).

What do you guys suggest? I'm sure I'm not the only one interested in seeing what's out there.

just going to copy/paste my post from the other forum thread about the ip6...

not sure which of these 2 i like more:

http://www.amazon.com/iPhone-Spigen%...ne+6+plus+case

or

http://www.amazon.com/Spigen%C2%AE-M...ne+6+plus+case

i also like this one, but the one for the ip6+ isn't amazon prime eligible and it is like an 18+ day shipping from asia.

http://www.amazon.com/dp/B00MJXV8WU/...ter_B00MJXV8QQ

i ended up getting the first 2 but not sure when they will be in, because the release dates keep changing on amazon for htem. they were both backordered when i ordered saturday, but now they are both in stock so i don't know if i should cancel then reorder, or if mine will ship out.

I've purchased three different cases so far. We'll see which one is better.,. and if any of them get here in time. 😛 As of right now, I have zero desire to get the Apple one, because in my opinion, it doesn't adequately protect the bottom (I/O side) of the phone.

I have a Spigen Neo Hybrid on order, I'll probably get it before the phone. I'm not sure if it will stand up to my klutzy wife, but I'm going to give it a shot. One interesting development, I just got this email from Spigen:

We will begin shipping Button Stabilizers within the next couple days to help with the button click sensitivity. Installation is very easy and we have included the steps on how to install them on your new Neo Hybrid case (see below). No action is required at this time, we will begin sending them out automatically. The Button Stabilizers will be getting delivered in about 1-2 weeks depending on your location, your tracking information is below!

During productions, we realized that our Neo Hybrid case button sensitivity may seem a little uncomfortable for some of our customers. In order to fix this situation, we have developed a tool to help you get the most out of your device. Our Button Stabilizers are made from Premium grade Thermoplastic Urethane that is both durable and heat-resistant to keep up with your active lifestyle.

I used a bunch of different cases when I got my 5S, but ended up sticking with the Apple black leather one. It is so thin and light that its practically not even there. I was bumped and my phone was knocked out of my hand and hit an asphalt road several months back. There wasn't any damage to the phone, so it does provide decent protection.

the first case i linked up above, in smooth black, shipped to me today so i cancelled my order for the neo-hybrid one. i'll see how i like this other one and go from there. if i end up wanting a new one i'll just get it. but i mainly like cases so that i don't get scratches on the device. although with this phone being bigger and thinner than my ip4, maybe i will want that is a little more durable than what i've had in the past.

I bought a case for my iPhone 3G, which I stopped using after about a week. I bought a bumper for my iPhone 4, which I stopped using after about a month. I never bothered with one for my iPhone 5. The only reason I am thinking I will at least try a case for my 6 is the way the camera slightly protrudes out the back. I am thinking of the thin Spigen case, but my concern is that it's SO thin that the camera may still stick out. I may buy the Apple leather case, though I am concerned about spending $50 on something I may end up tossing. We shall see . . .

I normally go naked too (like the other guy said) but had to put a bumper/full case for the 4 due to antennagate.

Ended up going in store and picking up a cheap Insignia (BB brand) case: http://www.bestbuy.com/site/insignia-case-for-apple-iphone-6-clear-gray/8451185.p?id=1219334915790&skuId=8451185&st=categoryid$abcat0811006&cp=1&lp=3

Has translucent back and gray rubber bumper. It's about as minimal as it gets...also read a review saying the back (even metal) got some light scratches from less than a week's use, so went with the full back cover. More of the solid plastic/sleek feel vs the neoprene - can't stand how the neo just collects any dust/lint/fibers that happen to be in your pocket.

I got the Spigen Neo Hybrid today. Looks nice, though I'm not sure if it will survive my wife. I guess we'll see. 🙂

Not bulky at all, it's pretty thin, which is why I'm a little concerned about the durability. But I was trying to compensate somewhat for the increased size of the phone by slimming down the case. If she kills it I'll probably just break down and get another Otterbox Defender, which would be a whole lot bulkier.

nice. if the one i get feels too thin and i just don't like it, i might just get that one instead. i may also get the 3rd one i linked up above because it's now $7 with prime shipping, and I have that on my current ip4 and it's worked just fine. i've dropped my phone a few times and it hasn't cracked or anything in the 3.5 years i've had it.

I got two cases in today, the Neo Hybrid X and the JETech bumper + anti-scratch clear back. The JETech unit is definitely the choice if you want a case for protection but generally prefer a naked phone. It won't protect it from any rather major falls, but I don't see it being an issue with most accidental drops. I like the feel of the Neo Hybrid case. Depending on its fit and usability, I will probably use that one. I also have another Spigen case coming in and that LK case... whenever it gets here.

Pics with the phone in it when you can! I liked the JET on Amazon but wasn't sold on buying something I couldn't see beforehand.

I think my only complaint is that it seems a little pricy for what the case is. I mean... it's pretty much just a normal-looking bumper (with built-in buttons) and a thin, clear plastic on the back to protect the back of the phone. The Spigen Neo Hybrid EX looks a lot nicer, but it appears to lack that back protection.

But I'll get the photo once my phone gets in, which I hope is soon. 😛

I got the Spigen Neo Hybrid and I like it pretty well. The mute button is a little hard to access and the sleep button seems harder to press than it should be, but it's nice thin case that extends past the screen so I can lay it facedown.

I mentioned a Neo Hybrid X earlier, which doesn't actually exist, but it turns out, mine's just the normal Neo Hybrid as well. 😛 I noticed the same thing with the buttons... when there's no phone, you don't really see any play in the buttons. Although, I'm kind of used to that with the Apple leather case as the power button always felt a bit hard to press.

Keep in mind, as I posted above, that Spigen has identified button sensitivity as an issue and is shipping some kind of button inserts to all their customers to correct this. I've gotten a couple of emails from them about this.

That sounds exactly like the case from BB I picked up...will upload a pic whenever they deliver my phone, which I hope is soon too lol.

here's a bunch of pics of the case i got. it is VERY minimal. i actually wish the front had a little more of a lip. it almost looks like at the top left corner (where the vibrate/ringer switch is) that there isn't any lip there. i think i am going to order the LK one and see how that one is.

the other case in the pics is my LK case for my ip4. so that is how big the ip4 is next to the ip6+. pics taken with the ip4 so sorry for shit quality.

oh, and on the backside with the camera sticking out, it doesn't stick out further than the case. it is flush when sitting on it's back.

I'm waiting on the i6+ version of this case.

I can't really find a different wallet case I like and have been using the i5 version of this case for a couple of years.

I took some photos of the two cases (JETech ; Spigen) that I currently have. I have two more cases coming in (Spigen ; LK), but I'm not sure when they'll arrive at this point as they weren't available through Prime when I ordered them.

After using the Spigen case, I can definitely understand why people don't like the buttons. It's just like my Apple iPhone 5s case's power button... there's no travel to the button and you have no idea if you're actually pushing it.
