Holy crap, that web page scrolling on the iphone 5s is an absolute dealbreaker, if i have to flick my finger 10+ times to get down to the bottom of a web page, that is HORRIBLE design.

Thank god for android.

Yes its annoying. But there are other pros and cons to both.

You must like beating around the bush often. I've been very specific in my posts.

Beating around the bush? Casting pearls before swine more like.

I'm not sure how

IOS doesn't lag with one stationary point.
Android doesn't lag with one stationary point.
IOS lags with two moving points.
Android doesn't lag with two moving points.

is anything other than succinct and to the point.

Your tack however seems to involve stating the same one point over and over "but its not in the video" and sticking your fingers in your ears when anybody adds the information to fill the gap in your understanding.

Do carry on though its quite entertaining watching you squirm.

After like how many posts? Lol

Anyway, I said the vid is wrong and you said that it's not. Then you said "So?", lol. The fact is that it's not a valid test. I'm open to video tests that are valid.

Eh I don't care if you disagree, I'm not here to change your device usage.

Err, go read my first two posts in this thread.

The video isn't "wrong" it just doesn't show what you want it to.

Eh I don't care if you disagree, I'm not here to change your device usage.

Really is that why you post spurious iOS vs android threads then?

Err, go read my first two posts in this thread.

Where do you say that you removed your fingers from the touch screen entirely? Then go on to say "I know what pinch zoom is". Yeah...

The video isn't "wrong" it just doesn't show what you want it to.

They weren't tested the same. Not sure how much clearer that can be.

Really is that why you post spurious iOS vs android threads then?

Ah yes, my thread history is overflowing with spurious threads of iOS vs Android /s. I don't care what device you use, in fact, I'm beginning to care less and less about this convo. lol

regardless of fanbois and haters, fact remains:

I feel bad for Apple users who are stuck with older hardware. While Android is making older hardware a better experience, Apple is doing the opposite without actual improvement in user experience.

But with Android you can't just tap the top of screen to return to the top of the page like you can with Safari. That's one of those things I absolutely miss with Android. Touchwiz has that "physically bump the top of the phone" function enabled in a few places like email that let you return to the top of the list, but it doesn't work in Chrome.

Yeah, thats the only thing I like about safari on an iphone. Wish android had it but I am sure apple would claim they invented it and sue.

How?? I rarely see a manufacturer support their phones after they are released

Eh, I don't mind Safari. Not sure if it's coding, screen response or what, but the link recognition when you tap on a link is so much better on iOS than any other mobile platform. Android is still worlds better than WP8 IE which is an insult to mobile browsing. IE 10 mobile is HORRIBLE.

The one thing really limiting Safari is screen size. I'll put up with a ho-hum browser on a big honking screen rather than a super slick one on a dinky one.

If you really worried about my exact way of pinch zooming you could of explicitly asked that. And I'd of told you that I did.

They weren't tested the same. Not sure how much clearer that can be.

Ah this is the bit where you ignore people telling you that having one finger still or having both moving doesn't make a noticable difference on Android.

Ah yes, my thread history is overflowing with spurious threads of iOS vs Android /s.

Well I can certainly remember a few.

I don't care what device you use, in fact, I'm beginning to care less and less about this convo. lol

I'm not surprised.

Yeah thats a pretty pointless option that Samsung included. I think I enabled it once, tried it, then turned it off.

Its not that practical on a big phone, the scrolling on android means its easier to just flick the screen a few times with your thumb rather than use your other hand to tap the top of the phone. Plus it only works in very few places.

Most OS updates now come through Google Play Services and Google Play Store because Google moved most of the OS to those two places now. Even Android 2.2 gets updates through those 2 sources still. Android is better supported than ios devices. Apple users are getting ripped off big time.

More about how Google bypasses the carriers/phone manufacturers and updates even ancient phones here:

This is what android 'fragmentation' really looks like:

This is what google moved out of the android OS and into Google Play Services/Google Play Store:

How is "off the screen" not explicit?

*sigh* Ok even if I take both my fingers off the screen and move them before pinching to zoom it doesn't make any noticable difference to keeping one finger still. In fact it zooms better because I cant do that anywhere near as fast as the guy in the video was pinching.

Is that better for you?
