iPhone 5S order and shipping thread

I figured I'd start one so as not to pollute the other threads.

At 3:06 am EST (or 12:06 am PT) I had a 32 GB Gold in my cart, for the Canadian Apple Store. It said shipping 7-10 days.

By the time I actually checked out though it was 3:08 am and it said shipping in October. Damn check out process.

I don't know what "October" means, but at that time the website was still showing 7-10 days for Space Grey and Silver. In fact, it was still showing 7-10 days for those colours as of 3:30 am. I suspect what it means is that they had very, very few golds, and they sold out by the time I finished the order.

Anyone get a Sept. shipping date for your gold iPhone 5S?

I placed an order for a gold 16GB and a silver 16GB, both say Sept shipping. I used the iPhone app and had the order placed by 2:03 central time.

Yeah, apparently it was live at 3:01 am but when I checked it wasn't. I then checked a couple of minutes later and still didn't get in. Weird. I think it wasn't until about 3:05 did I notice it was live. Damn. Anyways, I hope that means early October, and not late October. I had the iPhone app loaded on my iPad, but didn't check it. Stupid me.

I also checked a couple of iPhone 5S threads, but didn't see anyone talking about the store being up. I guess they were too busy ordering.

Yeah, at least you were able to complete your order. It wasn't an Apple issue though, it was an AT&T issue for me.

I actually completed 2. I knew gold was going to be hot so I went for that first. Then I went back around for a grey 32gb.

The Apple store app was flawless and very snappy the entire time. I was surprised. Supposedly people that used the online store had worse luck. Maybe Apple gives traffic priority to the app.

I stupidly went to the bathroom at that time, thinking it might not go live until 3:20 or something like what happened with the 5C. However, when I came back a minute or so later it still gave me that Apple store iz down!!! page. Maybe I just didn't refresh it right. Finally it was live when I checked at about 3:05 / 3:06. I had turned on one-click purchasing the day before but I guess the account must have timed out since I ordered many hours later. It still asked for multiple verifications - credit card security code, address, and password, so that was useless, and I didn't get to check out until 3:08... by that time with an "October" delivery date, whatever that means. I think at one point it said October 7-10 delivery or something but then after checkout that disappeared and it just said October, so I'm thinking mid-October, or so I hope.

BTW, I never pay for expedited shipping for new hot products like this from Apple. They always seem to send it expedited anyway - FedEx Air direct from China.

P.S. If you're in Toronto and you really, really want to get a gold, you can pay this @sswipe $2000 for one.

Yeah, I was on the online store using Safari. I never bothered checking the app, because the online store had no slowdowns, and I had never used it before either. That Apple Store is down page also looked clunky on my iPad so I was a little unsure of it. However, perhaps if I had checked the app at 3:03, it would have already been live for me, even though the online store didn't work for me at 3:03.

I ordered 16gb grey for me and 16gb gold for the wife from AT&T. AT&T showed 7 to 28 business days at the time of my order for both. I don't really mind the wait this time since our Straight Talk service refilled like 2 days ago and isn't scheduled to expire til late Oct. I hope I don't regret signing the 2yr contract.

Order completed 3:08AM ET for 32GB Space Grey model from att.com. Confirmation E-mail says shipping date is Oct 21-30.

Did a chat with an online rep about an hour ago who told me the shipping date is 21 To 28 business days due to the 32GB version not being available per Apple. He said they only released the 16GB version. This sounds like BS to me as friends were saying the 32GB version was in stores this morning. Too bad AT&T feels like they need to lie to customers.

My 5% electronics store discount kicks in in October, so I am waiting until then to order mine. I am going to get an unlocked 32GB. Not sure which color or if I want one of the leather cases.

I am switching to tmo prepaid so I have to wait for my AT&T contract to expire on the 8th as well.

Wall Street Journal: Apple Suppliers to Boost Gold iPhone Production

Apple Inc. has asked its suppliers to increase production of the gold-colored iPhone 5S by an additional one-third after seeing strong demand, people familiar with the situation said. It isn’t clear whether there are currently supply constraints manufacturing the new iPhone.

In Canada it's $819 for the 32 GB, so I'm paying $925 after tax. So yes... DAMN!

I ordered online at 2:55am today (verizon had it up early) through verizon's website. It says that it will be shipped 9/24.

I stopped by a local VZ wireless store just to see what they had in stock. Surprisingly they had all models and colors in stock. I asked for them to cancel my order so I could have it today and they said it wasnt possible. DOH!
