No matter which of the 4 carriers you pick, all 5S's (and 5C's respectively) will have the exact same DC-HSDPA and HSPA+ support. No more flip-flopping between the 5 GSM and 5 CDMA phones for different frequencies/bands this time (thankfully).
The difference this time is for LTE. The Sprint iPhone 5S additionally supports band 18 and 26, which also the carriers in Japan (KDDI, NTT Docomo, and Softbank) support as well. The other PITA is that Apple has a few other models that support different frequencies for LTE worldwide but I don't believe those models are sold in the states so you'll have to make do with HSPA+ and DC-HSDPA when travelling in certain countries.
Hopefully the next iPhone will include the all-in-one chipset (Qualcomm RF360?) that can support pretty much every network and band/frequency.
