In any case... Apples shenanigans is very much like all the crazy lawsuits about spilled coffee and burglars falling through sky lights. Legally they can do it, financially the stand to gain from it... But it makes them total deadbeat douche bags.

Just an FYI, the lawsuit about spilled coffee was in no way crazy. If you read the real story behind it you'll probably wonder why McDonalds wasn't punished more.

To me those cases looks like the ip5 will be a flattened ip4 with a wider screen. Hopefully apple put something cool inside other that dual-core.

What sort of thing are you wishing for?

They better question is why? It's a phone. Outside of some flashy game, what could one possibly need that much CPU power for, especially on a device that doesn't do true multitasking?

More and more people are editing video on their phones. If it could take 1080p and process it and upload to youtube over 4g that could be sweet.

Quadcore isn't expected until sometime next year and the A5 is already faster than Exynos. Not sure why people perceive Apple as being behind the curve. If it has a dual core, it'll be plenty.

Me, I personally am not wishing for anything as my next phone will be a SGS2. Im just saying they need more than just a flatter, bigger screen phone.

Sorry, it sounded like you were wanting some killer hardware feature.

Thinner, bigger screen and more powerful hardware. I'm not sure theres anything else to ask for on the hardware front.

Editing video? Seriously? I'm not talking about cutting off the last five seconds of a video or adding some sort of color filter.. but actually editing something with captions and things like that. People *really* do that on their phones?

As phones get more powerful, yes. iPhone in particular has loads of video apps.
Seems silly but if you think about all the shit phones can do now I bet people 5 years ago would have laughed. It seems outrageous to have so much processing power in your pocket but here we are.

You're wrong. Every major city has LTE. Every major city also has horrifically congested 3G. This is the killer feature.

Not every city. 95% of the time 3G is fine in phoenix.

It is absolutely terrible in NYC or SF tho. It doesnt even work there. Generally I just turn off 3G and use EDGE when i am in these cities.

thats what vzw wants you to do too! that way, the fees for the overages from uploading all that video can pay for their new stuff! 😎

while i do record video on my phone, if im doing a project where there will be real editing involved, i get a real camera and desktop edit it. theres no way you could easily keep track of 20+ tracks over a multitude of minutes on a small phone interface. neat toy feature, not a reality-based tool.

when i had my old omnia, the still camera was much better than my regular point n shoot so i was able to leave my camera at home. but, when it came to editing a photo beyond the basics, i still went to photoshop on my laptop for it. now, my droidX camera is so crappy, i still use it, but take my camera if i know i want decent pics. since i do this, i end up not using the 720p droidX video camera anyway, and editing the SD video from my regular camera.

my cousin picked up that "4G" tmobile phone and was complaining about the internet speed. i loaded speedtest on it and ran a few tests side-by-each with my droidX on vzw. i constantly got 1.5mbps and he constantly got 1.2-2.1mbps. i thought hspa+ was faster. ive had pretty good luck with 3g here in the valley as well.

hes right the current LTE coverage is crap, yes most large cities have it but thats it, and even then it doesn't even extend into the burbs of those cities. hell there is not LTE at all in VA.

for me until LTE covers 100% of the country it will be a waste of money

As opposed to fake multitasking? What's wrong with the multitasking that they do now?

3 days left, if speculation had a penis it would be fully erected by now, possibly throbbing occasionally during the next 72 hours.

I am bored, I need the info storm that will start with the i5 and the countering high end Android launch spam.

I can't name one person, one friend that has ever edited video in anyway on his/her phone. None of the IT nerds I work with, certainly none of my family who can barely use their flip phones still.

In fact... who the hell takes videos in general?
