!!! iPhone 4 just died...and I was trying to purchase SquareTrade!

I actually did go there. I'd post a screenshot of the failed transaction at 11:59PM, but I'd have to censor out the credit card number...so I won't bother. It didn't work.

You waited until 11.59pm on the last day to make your purchase? Honestly, I'm lost for words.

This angers me. I didn't wait. I did everything I could after the phone died and the website was a last resort. The app had specifically said that I had to purchase through the app to get the discount.

Credit card company likes to randomly disable the card because they think any activity at all is "unusual" activity. I can't call them to find out if that's what happened either.

Nice selectively edited quote there. You left out the part where I said I was purchasing accidental damage protection.
I'm sorry, allow me to address your post in its entirety.

Apple has no accidental damage warranty...NONE.

Also, you get a discount if you purchase the warranty within 30 days of purchasing the device. That's what I would miss out on
There are no words for the dumbassery I just read.

You could try holding the power and home buttons simultaneously. I've had issues where the phone randomly turns off and won't come back on unless I hold both buttons for about 5 seconds.

No good. I had already tried that. I also tried holding Home as I connected to USB. No go.

Let's see, $99 2-year warranty that covers accidental damage or having to shell out $499 for a new phone. which is better?

1. Not buying a stupidly expensive phone
2. Taking care of your shit better.

Apparently there's no situation where $99 protection makes sense for anyone on the planet (according to GodlessAstronomer)

iphone 4 was dead before you even got it! lol

if its not accidental damage, go to apple and explain what happened, they prob will give you a new one and refresh your 30 day warranty.

if they wont, bitch till they give u the discounted price.

if not, return the phone for a full refund (they said they would offer it to anyone who wants it cause of the antenna prob) then buy it again

I believe they said "return it within 30 days, no questions asked" in regards to the antenna problem. I'm outside of 30 days, now.

"accidentally" dropping it in the garbage disposal on the day before the warranty expires.

There's probably some kind of fee when you make the claim, but I think it's < $50. Enough to discourage a bogus claim, though.

The phone has been out for what, a month, it's gotta be still covered by apple right?

It has a 1 year warranty, so if it died on its own accord he can bring it into any apple store in the country over the next 11 months and have them swap it out.
