Hi all,

Need help with a network setup.
I am trying to see the results of ipconfig.
It works but the window it displays in closes in about 1/4 sec instead of waining untill I close it my self.

Is there a way to make the windoq display longer so I can jot down the settings.

Thanks in advance,

jazzisjazz

thanks,
but that didn't work for me.

I got a message saying that win (me) can't find that file.

It may be related to a message I have been getting at boot up saying that windows cannot find /P.

It hasn't prevented me from doing anything else that I know of - but may be the cause for this.

Is there any other way to get the same information?

For Win2000, and Win XP

Open Notepad (or any other Text Pad).

Type:

ipconfig /all

pause

Call the file IP Config.bat, and save it to a directory of you choice.

Open Win Explorer, right click and drag to make a shortcut of the file to your Desktop.

Double click on the shortcut, and the ?magic? will appear.

For Win98. Open Win Explorer, find the file

C:\WINDOWS\WINIPCFG.EXE

Make a shortcut from this file to the Desktop.

Double click on the shortcut, and the ?magic? will appear.

For windows ME I think it isn't cmd it is command because it is the 9x kernel. So it would be Command > Ipconfig although the winpfcg.exe works just as well and you can actually type that in the Start > Run
