Hey yeah I wonder. If they are having such a big argument, are they going to kick some of those rebates? Not allow the price match? For anyone who is going to try this deal tomorrow, keep in mind, it might not be a great deal anymore, because I'm sure something is going to be cut out of this deal. I'm guessing you won't be able to use a coupon, PM, and rebate all together... probably one or the other I'm guessing.

Guess we'll all have to wait till about Christmas when they really drop the price to get rid of them 🙂
 
hey... i got in on this at the last possible hour (REALLY!). The store (12 miles from home) had 2 of the devices... i tell them to keep one away for me. I turn up there with the printout from costco. The girl at the desk (pretty pretty i might add 😛 ) just looked at it, and PMed it with the printout. Then i produce a printout showing the 15% coupon, and she deducts that too... ( just told her that someone in her store had said it was doable). Then the rebates print out... and she hands me them too!! But the rebates that printed out totalled only $150! Not that i mind the great savings i got already, but getting the 4th rebate would be wonderful.. Wonder if i can use one from te OD site...? Its thte HP rebate that is not printing out BTW...

Both Amazon and J&R only show the $50 summer savings rebate. Any idea why they both supposedly pulled the $50 back to school one?

Staples.com now shows the price as $399.99 so Office Depot should have a hard time denying the match. Unfortunately, the 15% coupon has expired but the 10% coupon will be valid until 10/1*.

FYI

Got one cs rep that claimed pm only worked with the other office products stores. She then said to call back on Monday.

Got another who'd do the pm to staples.com but then after holding for 45min, inventory in the SF Bay Area was nada so they could not cancel the order with original price and recode with lower price! They can do it when stock returns.. (Perhaps never..)

Anyone know if you can call and get the pm after receiving the item or bring in the online receipt to get the pm done in store?

hey... i think thats when you get the 110% pricematch guarantee. If you have actually bought the product, and then find some other place offering it for less, you can go pricematch with OD....

Well, if you have a compact flash slot, you can buy a wireless card. There were deals on a D-Link one at Circuit City about a month ago for $30. It works like anyother wireless card on your wireless network. You just have to setup your connection to point to Internet on the iPaq and you can browse away. If you set your connection to Work, you can wirelessly sync with your PC. At least this is how it works on my 3635. Does 38xx have a CF slot?
 
well, they dropped the price to $449 in-store and online now. I went today after trying to order online for store pickup (for the $50MIR). I bought it for 449 and PM to staples @ 399. Then as i was walking out, another guy comes in to buy an ipaq as well. He said he couldnt' get it online and was asking for the $50 discount b/c he wasn't eligible for the $50 online rebate. The manager just took $50 off his price! Needless to say, I was next in line to ask for the discount and got it with no problem whatsoever. I ended up payin $349 for the ipaq...$150 in rebates coming and $100 in Amex BLue BVG as well...so $100 for an ipaq 3835! NOt too shabby at all...especially since I bought my own for $600 several months back. Interesting side note..today my ipaq 3835 froze up and would not restart no matter what you did to it..soft reset, hard reset, power button, nothing. I took it back to best buy b/c I have the service plan figuring they will swap it and give me a new one. BUT NO, they apparently have changed their plan now and instead of swapping, they send it out for service...not to mention for 4 weeks! Now i am sans ipaq and i might just open up the one i got today to use in the meanwhile..
 
Just bought one online a few hours ago, unfortunately the csr wouldn't let me pricematch and use the 15% coupon at the same time. so $200 for me
 
It may be cheap, but I have had both Pocket PC 2002 and Now a Sony Clie, and even though the Clie is 33Mhz and 16mb of RAM, it kicks the crap out of the PocketPC with functionality, stability, and ease of use....I'm all palm....especially the Palm 5 Os devices coming out soon.

I know it sounds incredible but it's not all that unusual to make money after rebates and people click on your thread salivating because poor bastards think they're gonna be making 😕 200 bucks! 😀 😀
 
Me and the Mrs. went and got 2 today. LOL, now we have 2 3635's, 2 3835's, 1 Sharp Zaurus ZL-5500, and 5 CF sleeves.


Btw, the sleeves are $9.99 at OD, but as usual YMMV. Just the CF one, the PC/battery one is still 150.00.🙁

What quality video can the ipaq handle, it would be great if I could play music videos and watch divx movies at work, hehe 🙂

If anyone can get me one of these I would really appreciate it, just called the store in Tysons Corner, VA and the price is still 40 dollars
 
This deal is definitely not for the faint of heart!

I placed my order online as one of the rebates explicitly requires it be an online purchase. I then called OD to price-match but no go. Told them I wanted to cancel, said I couldn't, only recourse was to refuse shipment @ time of delivery. I called back again got the same csr, promptly hung up & redialed got a different csr. Same thing though wouldn't do the price-match & allow the 15% off coupon.

By this time I was pretty mad & wasn't helping myself. So I had my wife call. She got a supervisor (female) & tried to cancel the order but was told couldn't do it. Then she demanded a price-match to j&r @ $349 she said ok. :Q She asked her to include the 15% off coupon, again she said ok. :Q :Q Then she asked if this would still be an online purchase but she clearly said no your order has a different number now & is considered a phone in. :| Oh well, I'll still send in that particular rebate but it will probably be denied. 🙁

Anyway after about an hour of grief I ended up with a final purchase price of $295 including tax .

Total after all if said & done will be either $145 or $95. Nice deal but a lot of frustration and work plus a huge amount of luck~!

Just bought one with the Staples pricematch ($399) and the 15% off $50+ after the $200 in rebates it ends up costing me about $150. $155.78 to be exact! Just hope those rebates come in. The 15% off $50+ ends 9-30-02
 
Besides the great price on these... can someone help me in justify buying it???

My only motivation right now is a GPS add-on, but other than that I really can't think of why I would actually need this.

Because here is what I'm thinking on the matter. I'm really still waiting for an All-In-One solution like the Handspring Treo 300. You get a cell phone, pager, email, organizer, etc. I know it's got one hell of a price tag right now, but I can't see purchasing an Ipaq only for them to release a new unit in the future that competes with Handspring.

Question: Has anyone able to get multiple rebates back by using a different address. I want one but rebate limits one per household...etc. Is it worth the risk?
