In a perfectly non douche world, we'd all have clamshell phones that call and have no brands. No text. But for some reason we all need iPods, iPhones, drive bimmers, Android phones just not to be iPhone owners, etc., etc., etc. Welcome to the real world where people are insecure and, conscious or not, care what other people think about them.

Maybe I don't care what the world thinks when I whip out a tablet/phone and whore ATOT.

Don't fucking talk to me, I'm whoring.

I honestly can't wait until tablet computers become ubiquitous. The more common they become, the less people make a fuss about their ownership of one.

I have no desire for one, but I'm sick of people using them as status symbols. Either they have to tell me about how their ipad is the greatest thing that has ever been purchased by a human being in the history of the planet, or they have to take it out to pass it around and show everyone how sleek and cool it is, and by association how awesome they are.

It's a large iphone for fuck's sake, get over yourself. /rant

(patiently awaiting the standard I'm jealous because I can't afford one response, which I assure you, is not the case)

I can't wait until I can turn my incoming tab into a car computer.

I'm a Librarian at a university with a less wealthy student body. I've seen a couple students iPads, but mostly laptops. I think $500 is a little too much. Once you see 'good enough' android tablets with retail for $250 or $300 without data plans, I expect to see more of them.

I'm sure if I was at a better school, I'd see more of iPads.
