The question is: is it worth it to get an iPad 2 instead of just a 1st gen iPad?
I answer this question like this.
If you have an iPad already - no.
If you don't have an iPad already - get the better one. There are apps in the market that are already updating with iPad 2 specific updates. Nothing is worse than buying an app, and you think you are missing a feature.
Only reason I sold my iPad 1 was because I regretted not getting a 3G version.
So basically if you don't have one and are considering one -- going with an iPad 2 with 3g? don't bother with the first gen's?
Well, it doesn't have to be 3G. I am saying go with an iPad 2 in general. Don't bother with the 1. After using an iPad 2, you will totally regret getting the 1.
3G is only if you plan to use the service, if not, get a Wi-Fi only.
I used my iPad a LOT last summer all over the place, but I used to tether to my Android phone. Now I walk around with a (work-paid) iPhone 4, so I can't tether anymore. So the 3G makes all the sense in the world to me.
you can tether with the iphone 4.
Yeah, the iPad 2's gorilla glass is super strong. It is virtually unbreakable. You will have really hard time trying to scratch this thing. I heard metals can't scratch it, unless you deliberately rub it hard with sand or diamonds. That is why I returned the Zagg's Invisible Shield screen protector and exhanged it for an iPad 1 Case, lol. This covers the backside and around the bezel which are prone to damages.
Like I said, I'm glad the iPad 2's sound output is so good. The experience of using the device is night and day difference when using it with some mid-to-high end ear phones. Makes the enjoyment several hundred percent better. Don't rely on the built-in speaker, get the earphones!
And did any of you guys notice the light bleeding problem on almost all of iPad 2 devices? There is a big talk going on over at apple support forum.

Glad to hear yours isn't having the issue. Luckily, mine is also not getting the light bleeding in fairly dark environments with black or dark screen displayed unless I take it into a complete dark room. So I'm thankful. 🙂Black model, no bleeding, and I use it in the dark a bit, so it'd be pretty obvious.

Anyone buy Final Fantasy 3 with an iPad 2? I have it for my iPad 1 and the overworld is super choppy? Other areas in the game are fluid.
Just wondering if it's quicker on an iPad 2 or not.
General consensus is the thing is considerably more powerful than its older brother, especially with video games (even emulators and such).

Didnt both Verizon and AT&T threaten to horse whip people who tethered?

UPS tracking says its on the way.
Since I was unhappy with the iPhone 4, should I just go ahead and send it back?
