Hello,

I got an iPad 4, and currently searching for an excellent & fast video converter. Which ones do you recommend free/paid (preferable free; but if worth it I'll buy it).

Handbrake works well but is god awful slow for me. Might be my PC though. (Athlon II X4 with 6GB of RAM and Radeon 4270 graphics) is Handbrake GPU optimized? I am thinking of building a machine to handle converting my movies to ipad format and finding a way to stream to it over wifi or 4G.
 
As I know Handbreak is a software, its not an app.
If you are searching for an app that will convert video over your iPad then you should better check AVPlayerHD app, it plays almost all format of videos over your iPad.

And if you are also interesting in videos editing app for your iPad then you can check Loopster iPad app.

AirVideo requires an AirVideo server computer (and won't work from the NAS without the computer).

Note that there are some NASes out there that will do transcoding on the fly by themselves, with no AirVideo or computer required.
