Just got my 256gb Pro 10.5 in! Now to set it up. ug.

Curious what you think. I know iOS isn't normally your thing, and the iPad Pro is sitting in a kind of limbo with iOS 11 not quite available yet.

As much as I've stated throughout the years my disdain for Apple and the iPhone I always thought the iPad as an excellent tablet. Plus I get them free. That being said, the pro 10.5 is a noticeable improvement over the pro 9.7. The screen is definately better and apps run much faster. Video looks great as well. My use is video playback and reading and the iPad excels in that regard. My app usage is very low as I use a pc gaming laptop and my custom built desktop for that. The 4 speaker setup is great and sounds a bit better than my 9.7 pro. Screen is noticeabley faster most likely due to the 120mhz. Happy all around. Now to sell the 9.7.

Does anyone feel like battery life is not up to par with the previous iPads? I do not know what trick Apple pulls - reported battery from full charge (100%) to 90% seems great, but from there on it drops rather quickly.

Edit: prior to iOS 11. I shall see if iOS 11 will improve things.

So I finally broke down and moved on from an Ipad 3 that was just far too long in the tooth to the new 10.5" 64GB Pro. Holy cow is this thing a slick little critter. Great screen, sound is very good for a tablet, size and weight is pretty amazing for the performance. This thing just hums. Easily the most responsive portable device I have ever used. I'll be interested to get a keyboard hooked up to it and see how responsive office is for typing up documents and other things. So far Apple really seems to have a special little device on their hands. My Surface 3 is sitting in the corner feeling neglected. :p

And I thought I was making a jump coming from the original iPad Air. Coming from the first Retina iPad? That has to feel like a revelation. Absolutely every part of the experience is dramatically better.

And when you think about it, the Surface 3 feels like the end of an era... it was Microsoft's last-gap attempt at directly competing with the iPad, rather than building something that the iPad couldn't match for a while (that is, something powerful enough to stand in for a laptop).
