The Android tablets have Netflix and browsing in bed of course. 🙂 However, I do prefer browsing in iOS, mainly because websites more consistently optimize their websites for the iPad than they do for Android tablets. Is the res on the mini that bad? I use an Asus memo HD 7" because it was dirt cheap and was a significant upgrade from my pokey Galaxy Tab 2 7". I was gonna get the mini but it was too much $$$. I was kinda hoping the mini would drop in price and get that just for netflix and browsing while in bed but I never compared it to any other semi-hi res 7" tabs. How bad is it? Like, asus transformer 101 bad?
Same. The mini will more likely get retina than a price drop. The res on the mini is ok, but I personally wouldn't buy it because I want retina from my mobile devices.

I've learned to test the device myself for responsiveness. I've heard the "no lag at all" comments from android users for 5 years now.

Looking at the vid, you wouldn't know that the mini is a last gen device. It's quite responsive and far from "garbage".
The thing I get out of this video is "Damn, look how much larger the iPad Mini is than the Nexus 7." Maybe the N7 is easier to hold, but the iPad Mini is definitely much easier to read on in portrait view. This is most likely why I use my N10 in landscape. Portrait on 16:9 is just weird until you get a large enough monitor that websites can display their full width.
I like the N7 form factor because it fits into pockets whereas the Mini does not.
