Ipad $458 NOW.

yeah 40 off is ok ... but like others I think more people would have been willing to shell out 350-399.

As I agree for what it is...... And what apple will make in selling music/books/apps and accessories ... It's still too much considering it cost about 240 for apple to make a basic ipad. 350 should be the cost.

I don't know about you but I expect another drop after xmas. If that doesn't happen and you really want one the hot deal is going to be when the newness wears off after half million people get them and try to unload them.

Been selling for $449 at apple's refurb site (always indistinguishable from brand new and carries same 1 year warranty as new products) for months.

Same here. I like the iPad, but just don't want to buy one knowing that they are probsbly going to release one with a camera soon. If they don't, then I'll look at what the competition offers, but I like the iPad best for now. Needs a camera though.

Not as good as the recent TJ Maxx deal but it's available for everyone. Price cuts on iPads are extremely rare.

No, he's remarking on the fact that Americans are consumer whores and tend to buy things without worrying about being able to pay for it. Nothing against the iGods. 🙂

Back on topic, I might pick up a refurb now that the BF "deal" is up. A new iPad may be around the corner, but nothing's been announced yet, and if you spend all your life waiting on something new, you'll miss out on everything that's in front of you. 🙂
 
Well, I too am waiting for the second generation and it's suppose to be at the same price point but a better chip. Maybe a better screen to boot.

Tho the deal is dead so... snooze ya lose. 😀
 
So far everyone I know that jumped on the Ipad bandwagon has them sitting at home collecting dust after the first couple weeks...

Actually eating out is major problem. Electronics it really cheap. I spend half price of iPda for feed my family in a mid grade restaurant.
