iPad 2 Cases

Well, my iPad 2 will be arriving on the 4/6/2011 so I'm in the market for a case! What are you guys using to protect your iPad 2s? Any suggestions? I don't want to get the smart cover because it doesn't protect the back of the iPad 2.

I was thinking of getting this Yoobao case:

So what do you guys think?

Looks like an exact copy of the Hard Candy convertible case which comes with a faux nubuck material. Love mine.

I checked out the Smart Cover. Very unstable as a stand. Not recommended for that purpose, esp. for that horrendous price.

I just ordered a screen protector, which means the back won't be protected, but I don't really care that much as it will just be used at home.

As for a stand, I'm using the one below for the time being. It's more stable in some ways, but not if you tap hard on the left or right top corners of the iPad (for obvious reasons). Then again it was only a 3rd of the price of the Smart Cover so I can deal with that for that price.

Makes the best (IMO) cases for iphones, and they have similar types for the ipad. Not sure exactly what you're looking for but check these out as well. They only have a couple ipad 2 cases, but they'll be adapting more of the ipad 1 cases as time goes on.

I have the black Yoobao case for my ipad 2. It fits well and the price is right. The only cons are that it smells which I think wiill subside with time and if you fold the cover all the way back, the magnet will shut the iPad off.

Wife has the Yoobao Magic case for the iPad1 which we love. We like the slim design and the complete open face. I don't like any case that covers any part of the front. Yoobao Executive case covers part of the front which I don't like. You have to slide it in and the edges are covered.

She has the Apple Smart Cover for the iPad2. We love the minimal design and the magnet hinge is brilliant idea. Again the face is completely open. Yes, the back is exposed but scratch there isn't going to hurt it.

For outside travel, she has a leather iPad strap pouch that her friend designed. iPad2 with smart cover fits perfectly in the leather pouch and she can carry and wear it like a bag/purse.

I have a Targus VuScape Protective Cover/Stand for Apple iPad 2 that I just picked up tonight at my local bestbuy, very nice minimal case w/ cover / stand,if it came in real leather it be nicer but it is a decent faux leather finish.

I am waiting for marware to bring out the CEO version for ipad2,had one for my 1st gen and loved it.

Sena makes some nice cases as well but ya pay for it.

I bought a Bodyguardz protective film cover, I think that's enough I have accidental warranty if I ever break it.

Your recommendation looks far less stable and is.

I have the brown Yoobao on my white iPad 2 and love it. Only complaint is the magnets built in for the smart cover lock and unlock function will trigger when you fold under the flap. I've had to disable smart cover function under settings.

Nice case though and while it has that issue, it's still the nicest one I've tried.

Does anyone have experiences with the switch easy canvas case? It got pretty good reviews so I wanted to get that one. I'm actually looking for a really really slim one that fits well. Thanks

I purchased one as well (from Amazon), very happy with it so far, covers the back, and the magnets work fine, it must be one of the 2nd gen of iPad 2 cases. It smells just like leather for some reason 😀

I have not any issues with the smart cover staying up as a stand. Are you sure you had it folded the right way?
Yes, most definitely. It is stable as long as you don't touch the thing, which defeats the point of the iPad IMO. This was in the Apple Store, with the Apple geek helping me out.

This is not my recommendation. It's not particularly stable either. It feels more stable than the Smart Cover in landscape mode, but if you tap the iPad too hard you can gradually push the legs together making it unstable after a time if you're not careful. However, you do have the option of portrait mode viewing something the Smart Cover doesn't even offer. So, basically both have their drawbacks in terms of stability, but mine only cost me a third of the price of the Smart Cover.

What I would recommend for stability would not be the stand I bought nor the SmartCover. It'd be something else completely.

I have the switch easy canvas and I absolutely love it. I had the apple smart cover, but will be returning it. The canvase is fantastic, It adds weight and bulk but it's really sturdy and perfect for me. It's not the type of case you want if you are looking for something that let's you take you iPad in and out of frequently as that could get cumbersome. Also it supports the smart wake feature like the apple cases. If you don't mind a little weight to your iPad 2 this is the case to get.

I'm looking at the marware ceo very hard. I don't want anything on the front around the bezel and this looks like the ticket. At $50 it's a lot better value than the smartcover, plus it still needs back protection.

Just got the switch easy canvas. Let's see how that is when it gets here. I got a carbon one to go with the white.

Just get the Yoobao case, the issues have all been fixed. It's minimalistic yet functional and looks high class.
