Sorry, looked at your other thread on the abit forums... Looks like the zero fill worked... Glad to hear that it's working. 🙂

Good call Serpent, but I'm curious... What's the rationale for the zero fill, and why would it fix this kind of problem?

Vista likes to take control of the HDD. Watch how the OS works the next time you perform a clean install. This can be an issue if you have other partitions and/or boot sector on the HDD. Zero fill wipes all the data on the HDD.
