Okay, so PC wouldn't power up this morning after going to sleep last night...I doubt its the PSU, just waiting on confirmation....
Its very hard to find a P35 or P45 chipset board and are in the process of convincing the wife we need to upgrade...LOL
Ive found a Asrock P67 Pro and 2500k to go with it along with QVL 8GB ram...I'll reuse the 9600GT for now and are hoping to use the Artic cooler with the new CPU as the mobo has 775 cooler hopes on it..
Question is i guess, whats the verdict on the Asrock board?, I'm really pushed for funds and this looks like middle of the road, but whats the reliability like?
Im kinda hoping for around 4-4.5ghz with this combo!

AsRock's board are great, i only had one so far, but it runs great (never had any problems), i did lot of research on the new p67 build (after the B3 revision) to get right board, i didn't get asrock board for one reason and one reason only, it had only 1 year of warranty compare to other major retailer who had 3 year warranty, and if i add the additional 2 year warranty through newegg program it came out to be about the same price. so finally i decided to go with MSI as better feature for availabilities than others at a time.

Are you a gamer? 9600GT is awfully slow. So if you are going to drop $350 on a 2500k + mobo + DDR3, you would be far better off getting a used P35/P45 board and a new videocard.

How dare you highlight my slow 9600GT!!!...:)...Its got to be the sexiest card ever built with its twin raised fans!!...LOL
Anyway, its not that slow............for my 3 yr old games!!, Im only on 16x10, and its clocked at 800 core!
But yeah, Ive got more change getting a new build than a new GPU, anyway, I hardly play games anymore...<sniff>....babies do that to you!
I have had the go ahead, mostly i think because the misses is in withdraw not being able to play farm-ville, and i take the lappy back to work each day...LMAO!
Ive had the kentfield for over 3 yrs, and im struggling to justify spending 3/5 of my budget on old tech just to keep the old pc going.....i have only just scored the SSD!

Anyway, Abit was 2nd tier, do i risk it again with ASRock?

Just to add....I run I number of VM's for testing and some codex conversions, so a CPU upgrade will give me some better frame rates anyway.....maybe and can sell the GPU and CPU for a cheap 460 768MB or something?
