IP server help please,

Okay I have a little problem, im not sure, but I think it might be related to my Windows 2000 settings.

Well first of all, I installed a program called PHPTriad, the program installed an apache server, php and MySQL. It works fine... for me. I gave my IP adresse to some people and they said it gave them a 500 error (if im correct).

I am assuming this is caused by some baddly configurated settings in my Windows 2000 (since others I have talked to have it running fine.. on win98). I do have Microsoft's Internet Sharing, I have a 2 computer network (connected by 2 network cards and a cable).

I know I am being a little vague, but im quite new to Win2000, I only have had it for a week or so. So if anyone could help me out, it would be greatly appreciated.

Big difference security wise between Win98 and 2000.
Win98 if you get connected to the box you can do anything you want. Win2K uses file level security meaning you need to check the permissions that are set for all files you want these people to be able to access.

Also how about your physical network setup?

What type of internet connection?
Do you have a router?
Ports open/forwarded?
etc...

I don't have a router and im on cable. Im not exactly sure what the forwared/open ports mean..

Thanks for your help,
