IP add blocking

I can't figure out how the suckers are getting past my firewall, has anyone seen these IP adds, and/or knows what port(s) they are using so I can block them, the ba$tards don't seem to get the hint, that I don't want this unsolicited garbage, and don't want to run some software in the background of all my computers to block it. That's why I run a firewall in the firstplace.

http://61.129.75.229/~antimessage.com/ is where they are coming from.

Ads aren't on specific ports but just use the standard 8000 port (which is used for the http protocol).

What you could do is (if you use IE) go into Tools > Internet Options > Security and click on the restricted sites icon and add the URL to that. This way, everytime an ad wants to pop-up, IE restricts it from showing.

However, most ads aren't from only one IP-address. In your case, I would get a small pop-up stopper which can run in the background (which you said you didnt' want) or just disable javascripts completely in all browsers (which can have some bad side-effects on many sites)

I don't have too much problems with pop up ads, but these are coming up randomly, whether I'm doing anything on the computer or not, very similarly to being hacked (I got hacked a few years ago, which is why I keep a very perinoid firewall.) They send messages that appear on the screen, and are forced to the top of the desktop, they even kill my fun at BF1942 by stopping game play to display these retarded ads.

Like I said, you could add those sites to your restriced sites-profile in IE.
Also, try running ad-aware and see if it finds something.

That looks like it is using messenger. If so, it is an easy fix.
Start---settings--control panel---adminstrative tools--services--
scroll down, it is messenger, listed alphabetically. Disable it.

This is not to be confused with msn messenger.

"Send 22 million pop-ups a day"
These guys are sick.
Thought you just need to disable messanger service (like skyking said).

that stuff does not make it thru my freebsd firewall, so we leave messenger enabled to harrass each other over the LAN:p
It serves no other purpose, though, so no harm in disabling it. I bet there are a bunch of people who would pay for this info, even though it is free here;)

adding them to the restricted sites list seems to have done the trick, I haven't gotten one since making that change and I was getting them about 1 every 2hrs.

Sounds like you need a copy of Spybot. If you're getting random banner ads, they are getting generated by something on your machine - Your browser won't open up at random just to display ads. Download and run spybot - You'll be amazed at what it finds. It also has an "innoculate" feature that blocks a lot of URL's associated with spyware and banner ads from your PC. Definitely a good thing.
