IP-35E or DS3L support for 45nm?

I know that both the DS3L and IP-35E will support the new 45nm offerings, but how is that support out of the box?

I plan on getting the MB and RAM soon but will wait until the E8400 is released at the end of this month.

Given I won't have any other C2D in place to update the BIOS, will the E8400 work with the latest stock from Newegg? Or would I be stuck with a board that doesn't work with the E8400 because a BIOS update is needed?

Currently Revision 2.0 of DSL3 doesn't have .5 multipliers with stock bios or the latest bios (F7). However Gigabyte saids they support 45Nm chips

Does anyone have any news when current P35 boards will add .5 multipliers to current bioses?

I actually asked gigabyte. The response was a link to the bios page with the F8a bios. Even though my question was whether I would need another 775 chip to flash my bios to the new version or if the E8400 would allow me to do so.
