Iowa state's basketball coach partying after game!!(pics)

what is so wrong about it??? I mean is he not allowed to party....with college women??? I definatly fail to see the problem.

I'd fire his ass just because he partied at the opponent's college after a blowout loss, with an opposing player (so I've read). What kind of message does that send to your team?

"suspended"

Well it looks like ISU is trying to fire him. I watched the press conference this afternoon and got pretty pissed when they said that they are recommending that he be fired.

Come on now - what the hell is the difference between a coach going to a college party (where there are people of legal drinking age) and a coach going to the local(or not so local) bar?

The reason i'm pissed is because ISU thinks they can fire a guy for things he does in his own free time. Hell, he could have gone to a strip joint and none of this would have happened but I guess partying with other "of age" people is now considered off limits to anyone who is a coach.

In the last picture, is that a wedding band on his finger?

In his contract it says both in public and in private he has to act in a manner befitting to the university or something along those lines

Yes he is married and has 2 kids.

So when are universities going to crack down on other coaches/faculty who go to bars, strip joints, parties?

from the article...

Van De Velde announced his decision three hours after Eustachy, his wife at his side, revealed that he had been undergoing counseling for alcoholism. Eustachy said he hoped the university would give him another chance.

Did you know this guy is the highest paid state employee in Iowa? Sad, isn't it.

Actually, that "honor" goes to Ferenz, the Hawkeye football coach.
