 Still haven't called Iowa even though Bush is up 13K. Don't mind Wisconsin is called for kerry with the same lead.
Is Culver(hack sec of state) trying to make Iowa a joke?

Yes.
It is pathetic how long this took. Give me a break. It is even more pathetic that the reason ABC, CBS, and CNN did not call Ohio was because the Kerry team called them and asked them not to. What a joke. If it is not ovious where they stand now it should be. Holding back declaration of a winner because the guy you support is pursuing legal solutions to a loss. They should have called it at about 1AM on Wednesday morning - at the latest - that is when it was obvious.

I want to thank all the many many many volunteers and supporters I met during this election. Even when things weren't looking good here in Iowa for Bush - we all stuck to the task at hand and worked as hard as we could. It showed at the polls.
However the task at hand isn't done here in Iowa. We had a shift in the state legislative positions, so we need people to contact their elected officials and tell them to not make any rash decisions on running a split state senate. Any decisions should include Major Chuck Larson - who is currently over in Iraq on active duty and should return back home in February.
<--- Extremely happy about Iowa becoming red on the map for the first time since Ronald Reagan was re-elected!

I would like to thank the evangelicals and the Dutch in Northwest Iowa for showing the world that hot man on man love and a woman's choice is way more detrimental to the fate of this nation than poverty, unjust wars with the killings of innocents, and tolerance. You have shown us that no matter how bad things get for us, that the fear of going to hell outweighs everything. I would especially like to send out a shout out to Sioux County where you even though you came out in droves to get rid of that sausage loving judge, you still didn't get rid of him. No go back and make your clogs while sh!t hits the fans over the next four years.
On the other hand, here in BlackHawk where I worked my ass off for the past 6 months, we told Bush to shove it, while gaining seats in the Iowa legislature. We got our minority districts to vote like mad, and they voted for change, because thier schools our suffocating under NCLB, their social programs are dieing left and right, and the economy up here keeps getting worse and worse. At least they voted on issues that mattered.

Wow, looks like Civil War II is going to start right smack in the middle in Iowa.
Not to worry. This year was an anomaly, a case of mass temporary insanity. Iowans tend to be well-educated, well-informed, and inherently sensible people (or at least native Iowans are). I predict the Bush spell will wear off over the next two years as all of the scandals Bush has suppressed finally erupt into the broader public eye. I predict Iowa will be solidly blue in 2006 and 2008. (So will much of the rest of the country.)Originally posted by: randym431
Yes, isn?t it sad what too much mercury in the water does to the brain. Shame Shame on iOwa!
Its was surprising. Soooo many Kerry signs & supporters here. His rally's were HUGE. People waited in 30 degree weather, from 6pm to 10pm for one rally, thought to have had 15,000 people.
The Ia legis at least has improved. Last year, the Repub's tried to run the show. They even sued the Gov trying to get their way. The Gov lost, but kinda won since it derailed their plans in the end. That Lamberti is a HUGE jerk (leader of the Repub's in the legis). His family owns the Casey's General Stores Inc. Some 1000 stores in some 8 states. His brother is a drug dealer/addict in jail most the time. Great family!
