I upgraded the IOS of a 2611 and after everything worked without problem I tried to deleted the old IOS image. When I run sho flash:
the old image is show too but with this remark [Deleted], but the space is not free. How I can free up that space?

you'll need to SQUEEZE the flash.

when you delete a file on flash it is simply tagged deleted and the space is not returned to free space.

squeeze flash:

then you'll have to go brute force. and be carefull.

format the flash and then TFTP the single image you need. do NOT turn off the router or loose connectivity during this time.

Backup backup backup that config.
Goes without saying I know.

But mainly for the benefit of all the Cisco neophytes tuning in.
