Only because everyone and their brother was doing the same. Took my phone and iPad 30 min tops.

That doesn't make sense. I downloaded the ipsw for my iPad in a few minutes. Wouldn't they come from the same server?

One change with beta 3 that I like very much is that the text in Messages is a little bolder, which makes it much easier to read, especially in the green bubbles.

no i'm still on ios6 i havent upgraded because of the negative feedback i've heard about how slow it is.

would you say it's usable as a primary phone? or would you recommend sticking with ios6 for now.

I don't use it for a primary. It's a toy.

I have an Ipad2 which I use daily and is waiting to get updated. Looking at what I see with the iPhone4 however, I will wait for final release AND the app updates. E.g. Skype is broken on iOS7, Plex hardly works, many apps open and close again.

Don't use the beta on your daily driver. It is still very raw.

I'm in London so there would be some differences there. Also, I was DLing during peak times so there may have been some congestion.

When I started to DL the files, it was a whopping 300kbps to start. It failed then a restart got me about 2mbps.

cool thanks for the info, i'll pass on the beta for now.

FYI: Updating to beta 3 over the air is a bad idea. It took my iPhone 3 hours to do so. I updated my iPad using iTunes, and it proceeded at a normal pace.

My download took ~5 minutes (yesterday right after it came out, you got unlucky).

Upgraded to beta 3 last night. Much better than 2, which I felt was much better than 1. So far any apps that I have had crash, an uninstall/reinstall has solved that issue.

iPhone 5 on beta 2 and 3 often fails to charge. Sometimes it'll be plugged in for about an hour and the battery level will be the same or slightly lower than it was before.

Beta 3 on my iPad mini displays iPhone apps in 2x mode with retina graphics, so they no longer look like pixelated crap.

I could not deal with the bugs. I had to switch back to iOS 6.1.3 for now. I paid 7.99$ for the dev thing from an online seller too.

Does anyone know how many releases there will be before its released to the public? 5-6-7-8? I have never ran a beta iOS before. I have had the iPhone since it first came out.
