Apple has released iOS 4.3, the update includes support for iPhone 4 GSM, iPhone 3GS, iPad, iPad 2, and iPod touch 3G and 4G, and Apple TV 2. iOS 4.3 brings AirPlay improvements, improved Safari performance, iTunes Home Sharing, the addition of the iPad orientation lock switch, and Personal WiFi hotspot for iPhone 4.

Download iOS 4.3
You can download and install iOS 4.3 by checking for updates within iTunes.

Alternatively, you can download iOS 4.3 IPSW directly from Apple:

iPhone 4 (GSM)
iPhone 4 (CDMA) – not yet released
iPhone 3GS
iPad 1
iPod touch 3G
iPod touch 4G
Apple TV 2
iOS 4.3 IPSW is also available for the upcoming iPad 2:

iPad 2,1
iPad 2,2
iPad 2,3
If you are having trouble downloading the ISPW files, right-click and “Save As” or use a different browser.

The Verizon iPhone 4 CDMA model is expected to receive the 4.3 update later, although no timeline has been announced from Apple. Older iOS hardware such as iPhone 3 and iPod touch 2G and 3G models will not be supported by iOS 4.3 and are ineligible for the software update.

Bummer about the iPhone 3. My son's iPhouch has seen it's last update, I guess.

Patiently waiting for the jailbreak. Good to see they finally realized the iPhone 3G can't handle iOS 4.

Downloading now... Ugh, I reformatted my machine and totally reorganized my iTunes since I last synced and now it's going to make a mess again.

I logged in to my home machine and started the two downloads I need.

They should be waiting for me when I finally get home tonight.

I think the best part of this update will be the Home Sharing.

Especially for podcasts, I'll be able to have my Mac fetching them automatically and then just watch them when I want without having to sync the iPad or download it manually on the iPad. w00t!

Oh, also the Nitro Javascript. Hopefully that can speed up some script-heavy sites!

I recently upgraded to 4.2 and won't bother reverting to 3.1.3. It's not great but serviceable.

If 4.3 was available for the iPhone 3G, I'd definitely update to get the faster JavaScript engine.

Dangit, this is horse manure! The 3GS won't do WiFi Personal Hotspot, just bluetooth and USB it would seem.
Will do more research, but if this is indeed the case, look out Android here I come. 🙁

Is there any way to share .avi's that don't come from the iTunes store?

I'm excited to try AirPlay on webpages!

Why not just jailbreak and use MyWi? I mean I understand wanting to be legit, but no reason to throw the baby out with the bathwater.

Don't know how, don't really want to know how, and I prefer just updating stuff like its meant to be. My mind is too weak for all this hacking business.

I've been considering jailbreaking my 3GS, but I've been waiting on 4.3 a bit... now I just need to wait on the actual hacking tool 😛. I would just do 4.2.1, but that increased Javascript performance is the biggest draw for me.

Updated my iPhone4, wife's iPhone4, daughter's iPod Touch4 and the AppleTV2.

Cursed as I fruitlessly checked for an update for son's iPhouch (iPhone 3G set as a Touch).

Whew!

Man, no WiFi Personal Hotspot on my 3GS 🙁 When my phone was JB'd a few months ago, I ran the MyWi trial and it was working great... For me it looks like an artificial block from Apple to make people upgrade to the newest phone (what else is new? 😛).

Apart from that, 4.3 feels great. Smooth and responsive on my 3GS. Didn't really notice any difference in browser performance though...

The other good thing for me is, it made me resync my iPhone to my newly installed OS. I thought the worst would happen, I would loose all my data, progress in games, etc (as it was synced to the previous OS). I made backups of what I could and hoped for the worst... iTunes redid all the apps with the newest sync and... everything is still there 😀 So I'm a happy camper now. Though I'm not gonna upgrade for a year or so, the 3GS is still super fast and smooth and does most everything I want it to.
