to each his own. rossman.

i mean, count the number of naysayers on the ipod. ipod shuffle, and the nano. and count how much business ipod has generated for apple, it doesnt really make sense but at the same time it does. there are two sides of everything.

btw i do have a shuffle, gf has a mini, and i bought a nano just last friday. hope it ships soon.

more money wasted some say? I just like it too much.

I disagree.

Apple makes awesome products but they're just overpriced.

The Ionic Breeze is both overpriced and sucks.

Have you taken the unit apart? You can unscrew the screws from the bottom and open it up. Clean the grids and the two \ metal threads with perhaps some rubbing alcohol or such. That helped quieted the unit down for me. Good luck.

When you clean the Ionic Breeze you have to let it sit for 48 hours to dry before you can use it again..

That is like 52 days a year you can't run it.

Didn't read all the dumb posts but have you done the "flip it over and back" thing a few times because there are cleaners on the wires inside and if you don't do that, the wires inside can get caked with dust and such too.

I always take out the inside piece and wipe it off. Then flip the rest of the unti upside down a few times so the beads can slide up and down the wires to clean them off. THen I put the inside back in and remove it a couple times so the plasitc part on the bottom of the inside piece can also clean off the wires.

Never had a problem after that. But they usually have like 3 year warranties so maybe give SI a call.

I know they do interfear with TV and radio signals and make them give off a noise.

Ionic Breeze will make noise if not cleaned weekly with a wet cloth, and let sit for 24 - 48 hours.

..I got the same prob. It's due to dust fouling in places in the mainframe that you can't clean. Eventually you'll do what I did and leave it at the curb for the garbage truck. Don't be afraid to admit you bought gadget store tinket trash. I came clean and I promised me I'll never do it again..and me is happy I saw the light.

The emperor has no clothes. It's amazing what people will believe when they've already spent the money. We learned about this in my freshman anthropology class... Cognitive dissonance.

That "to each his own" nonsense has no relevance here. Consumer Reports uses these things called FACTS and SCIENCE, and their conclusion is that the Ionic Breeze does indeed suck, and is harmful. The fact that you paid hundreds of dollars doesn't make it worthwhile, and duping yourself even further only makes you look dumber.

The comparison to the iPod would make sense if the iPod didn't play mp3s at all and emitted harmful ozone. Making money for Sharper Image sure as hell doesn't mean something is good!
