Iomega DvD writer Problem.

Ok my bro purchased an asus k9n-e deluxe which is a socket 754 nforce 3 250gb chipset and a AMD athlon 64 3400. These components work perfect however the iomega dvd writer model number : nd-1300a does not function with it. I have checked for firmware updates and found none, when I looked in the BIOS the device is detected properly. The dvd has power and works perfectly when installed on my computer. Other cd-rom drives work fine with the nforce 3 250gb... for some reason the Iomega dvd writer does not. I cannot figure out why. HELP.

Which burning software are you using?
Myself, I've noticed that Nero 6.3 doesn't like my Taiyo Yuden dvd-r's, whereas Alcohol has no problem.

you don't understand. It acts as if the drive is empty when cds are put in it including windows cds when im trying to install the os.

Stupid question, what jumper settings are you using for the Iomega? Cable Select, or did you choose it to be Master/Slave on an IDE channeL?
