Iomega CD-RW clarification please

Hey all...I just purchased an Iomega 12/4/32 CD-RW drive...I see a number of references to this being a Sanyo drive? Also, a number of posts mention upgrading this drive so it can read 90 minute CDR's, and something about reading sidebands for Clone CD....What does all of this mean? Thanks.

Iomega does not make CDRW drives. They do sell rebadged Sanyo drives with their logo slapped on them. I believe you are referring to flashing the firmware, which I do not know how to do. I was just going to ask how to do this, so I'll ask it here:
how do you flash the firmware on this drive to make it think it is a Sanyo?

Be warned that the drive MAY have problems with Adaptec EZ CD Creator..... It works fine for me but some people said it doesnt work afterwards.... But it does work fine with CDRWin, Nero, CloneCD... I think the issue with the Adaptec software is Direct CD which I hate but Im not sure.
