With high speed and large capacity, the Iomega® 750 MB Zip® USB 2.0 External Drive is a fast and durable storage solution to backup your important data. It does not need an external power source since its USB interface provides both data and power. Backup all your data from your computer to the Zip disks through the USB 2.0 interface at 7.3 MBps transfer rate. Not only is the drive an easy-to-use portable storage solution, but it also features an ultra-thin design with plug-and-play and hot-swap capability. The bundled Iomega Automatic Backup software makes backup a snap, and Iomega Sync software helps transfer files between computers. Compatible with both PC and Mac, the 750 MB Zip drive can read and write to 750 and 250 MB Zip disks but can only read from 100 MB Zip disks.

For any of yall zip users out there..... *click* :disgust: I don't think that I'd ever go back to iomega products after that... I mean, come on! Maybe this is so much better now, but still. What I wanna know is, why does iomega keep trying to push their zips on us? It just seems like trying to save a leaky boat...

But, eh, if it was anything other than Zip, it's be a nice possibility at that [rice....

if somebody really owned a zip drive that failed, i'm sorry 🙁
we have hundreds @ work
i have an external @ home -- i can't count the times that i've used it -- i have a lot of friends who are musicians/djs
maybe one day, it will break, but i've already gotten my money's worth out of it.
thanks to the op for posting

I also use zip drives at work and sometime we have to replace one after many years, but I also replaced a lot of floppy drives and some other drives too. I never had any problems with home use.

IMO zip drives don't have any different failure rate than any other drive with the same amount of ware.

The "click" problem was high-profile, yes, but do you have any idea how many zip drives iomega has sold?! Zillions, to be exact.

"you can get a cd-burner for that price and blank cd's are cheaper."
but i have written the same zip disk hundreds of times... and i don't like the startup/effort involved in burning just a 3.5mb file...
