I hadn't seen any posts on this. This is great for those who, like myself, got screwed by Staples on the deal day after thanksgiving. This comes out to almost the same price, and you don't have to deal with Staples CSR's! It didn't list this deal on the online "advertised store specials" page, but sure enough on page 5 of my circular it shows it $149 - $20 Mfr. Mail-In Rebate, SKU#275722. This sucks because my wife took the car and I now have no way of getting there!!

I think that this is definitely worth checking out... from what I can see from the ad, it COULD be a possible misprint. On the web, it shows up as $249.99, but in the ad, it shows up as $149 - $20.00 mfr. If its not a misprint, it's still a pretty good deal, considering those that got in on the staples/best buy deal, paid close to 140... So, It's burnproof for sure... you can see it in the ad.... so, i think im gonna head over there later today.. :)

good luck!

According to Iomega's site, the 12x4x32 does not have Burn-Proof... Their 12x10x32 is the only one that does.

ouch...a friend just bought one of these, and when he opened it we found a memorex 2x2x6x...it didn't even look opened...damn, i'd hate going back and complaining about this, they'll probably think that he swapped it or some crap. Urgh...compusa should check their returns a bit carefully, and they shouldn't sell freakin returns as new products...

Woo Hoo, I just got my Iomega from CC for $179 with $30 rebate (tired of waiting for Best buy to come back into stock), now I can pricematch! Happy day! Saw it last nite and couldn't wait to cheer, scared my dogs.

Now I just checked my rebate from CC. It looks likes it's valid 12/07 to 1/15/01. Pricematch, people? With $30 rebate is sure is better than the $20 offered by CompUSA.

I went to CompUSA today and bought this drive for $149....no misprint...no problem

I went to rebate area on wall...has a valid rebate with Sku#275722 for $30 not $20

That makes it $119 with no PM and store calling...

My Local store had 25 units..

BTW...Also hooked it up and flashed it to the Sanyo...no problem...burnproof etc...active

My girlfriend got me the Iomega thru Staples & the Agfa camera post. As I was given the drive as a gift, I really wanted the burnproof one instead, so I went into OfficeMax and told them I got it as a gift and I wanted a different model. They had no problem exchanging it, as they will not give you money, but a store credit. I had noticed this on sale at Comp. It was also in the Office Max ad for more. They asked me to get the one I wanted, and I brought it up front and then asked them to PM Comp. They only give you the price before rebate, $149.99. And the other one is also $149.99, so it was an even exchange. It was a gift and I did not have her receipt, and she did not yet do the Iomega rebate. So, for no extra money, I got this one, and there is also an Office Max mail in rebate for a free B&W TV, like the BestBuy $10 ones. I thought this was pretty decent. I just spoke to my girl and she said she mailed off the $100 rebate, as it requested a copy of the UPC, and incase something was wrong with my drive, she did not want to remove the upc or destroy the box until it was up and running. Her better safe than sorry thinking scored me a much better unit for no extra. I can't help but love her.

I'm planning on going to Staples EARLY tomorrow morning and doing a pricematch with CompUSA, then using $25 off $100 coupon I received in mail, then using $30 rebate for a grand total of $95 + tax. I hope it works out! This would DEFINITELY get them back for cheating me out of the drive day after thanksgiving (I probably shouldn't feel this vengeful, but I REALLY wanted that drive :) )

The $30 rebate I saw was only good at CompUSA on drives purchased between 12/16 and 12/20. I did not see a rebate on the Iomega site for the 12x4x32 drive. BTW the 12x4x32 is made by Sanyo, the 12x10x32 as a Plextor.

Two things.
1st: Great find. This find now makes me check the board b4 I check the paper!
2nd: I would like to update the firmware to Sanyo so I can use my copy EZCD 4 Deluxe. I am hesitant to do so as I have yet to run across the right firmware. Help in this department would be much appreciated.

I decided that the 50 mile drive to Staples was too much hassle when I probably wouldn't be able to use the rebate anyways (but I DID wanna stick it to em). I drove by both CompUSA's near me and they were both out of stock, so I came home and ordered it online (Since last night they lowered the online price to $149 before rebate as well). Total with tax and 2nd day air shipping (I want that thing by Christmas! :) ) came to about $165 - $30 rebate = $135.

Could those of you who know about the rebates, could you please post a link to them? It doesn't matter which stores. Is any of them from Iomega??
