consulting! would be a good way too, like a poster above mentioned. Maybe you won't make as much, but I think you'll have more freedom, well, i guess it depends on your personality, and how you want to live your life.

i had an IB internship in college. found out it wasn't for me. yeah, the money is good, but you won't have a life outside of work at all.

I make 10k a month searching the web and clicking on advertisements.

come again?
Yeah, it's awesome and easy as hell. Paying for college is gonna be a breeze.

Yea, the extra 10K per month on the side for surfing is prett nice. I'm glad I'm a member of the program.

I know a bond trader that just signed 2.5 million dollar 2 year contract. He is 25.

that's pretty bad ass. traders get paid a lot, but if this man is only 25 right now, i would say he must have been one hell of a trader

That one is hard to believe. Makes you wonder why we all don't go into law, huh?

you mean the 2L summer? that doesn't sound right... that might be the equivalent annual salary on the low end, but not how much you get paid just for a summer of work...

right... so unless your summer is 10 months long... you don't get $100k - 120k

Bullsh!t. The top students usually obtain jobs at BigLaw firms during the summer of their 2L, but it's pretty much standard that they all get paid $2400 a week, translating to roughly 30k for the summer.

And again my question...why are we not all studying law?

Because US already has too many worthless lawyers and there are other fields/professions that make just as much/more.

yeah i wish i were in ibanking. a friend of mine working for DB can make up to 25K this summer, dang that's more than enough to pay for tuition!

wait, is DB actually paying interns overtime?

hell yes they are paying overtime. think about it, saturdays and sundays=all over time!!!

umm... no other bank pays overtime. no other bank has ever paid overtime.

I work in the information system department of a bank and I get paid overtime. Then again, not everybody can work for the largest credit union in the world (NFCU).

the salaries mentioned above are for the top law firms, not everybody can get into them, and the lifestyle is not for everybody (i.e., sacrifice yourself to the firm).

My brother is starting tomorrow at AT Kearney as a Business Consultant. He's a sophmore in undergrad and will make about $1150 a week for 10 weeks. Wish him luck🙂
