So i was reading through this article, which i found to be very useful and informative, and noticed that the author, Jarred Walton, doesn't seem to have any issues with running the system with a VCore of 1.7V, when at high overclocks, using an XP-90.

I was wondering what some of you guys thought about that.

edit - having got to the end of the article, it's pretty long, i discovered that Jarred didn't recommend going above 1.65V for a long term overclock, that's still higher than the majority of people on this forum would recommend. I guess it depends how much liquid cash you have to replace your burned up CPU at a moments notice ... :D

Personally, on AMD 90nm chips, I wouldn't go above 1.6vcore on air cooling.

I ran my winchester at 1.63 vcore for about 6 months, on stock cooling. Never got above 54C. Now, X2's, they run a bit higher, I wouldn't go above 1.5vcore on air.

Hell, I ran my clawhammer at 1.9vcore for a week, it didn't die. As far as I know, its going strong, the guy who bought it hasn't complained yet.
