I have a client that is starting up a small business. They are wanting a software package that will be able to keep track of inventory, and also operate as a point of sale system. The point of sale doesn't need to be very advanced, like a register or anything. They just want to be able to choose out of their inventory which items are being sold by scanning a barcode or typing the item in, and it removes it from inventory. Then be able to run reports at the end of the month to show amount of goods sold, profit, tax, etc.
They aren't wanting something very expensive. They are planning on just getting a basic Windows XP system, and a barcode reader, DVD-R for backups, etc.
Anyone know of a good software package that would do this?
