Invalid win32 application

XP Home Edition. Downloaded a cnet.com program setup file (exe) compatible with XP. Upon execution, get message "not a valid win32 application". File appears to have downloaded successfully. Am logged on as Administrator. Running AVAST 5.0.

Any suggestions on how to correct error message?

Sounds like you downloaded the 64-bit version of the software. Without the link to what you downloaded, it will all be just guessing.
