I stumbled on some demos of this in use on Youtube and it looks incredibly cool. Found it on the iTunes store and it was $20
but I had an iTunes card and was itching to have it. Not sure how this app isn't being talked about. This is the coolest thing I've played with in ages. Basically it's an app to make beats it has a 16 multi-touch pad and a nice sequencer. Plus you can filter out highs or mids or whatever. And it actually comes with some decent starter sample kits. Not sure about 3rd part kits but I'm sure they exist somewhere.
So I loaded it up and spent about 10 minutes getting familiar with the interface, I have made a few beats on my PC but it's been ages. Once I got comfortable with it I started loading up the kits and seeing what it came with. I messed with one of the kits for a few minutes and had a basic baseline with a drum track. Sounded ok I guess, good for the amount of time I've had the software. A little more tweaking and I had some extra fxs going. Basically it has a metronome and you record yourself playing the pads which you can load into the sequencer and loop them or edit them. Changing the pitch on a bass guitar gave me a different note. I strung a few together and had a beat that actually wasn't bad at all. Nothing worthy of letting anyone hear. But this was finished 20 minutes after installing it. When all was said and done my beat had 4 tracks with a bunch of different samples going on.
$20 for an app seems expensive but this is a flat out amazing piece of software. In capable hands with the right sample kits I don't see why one couldn't make a studio level beat. It's not as powerful as something like Reason. but it runs on an iPhone and is only $20 bucks. I could make a beat on the spot anywhere I go. You can also export to WAV, and they have a PC syncro program. I haven't had this much fun in ages, think I'm going to take it with me into the bathroom and make a beat while I'm on the throne.
Anyone else here have this? I'm about to go look up how I can get more sample libraries on it, I'm willing to shell out more money even.
