Many posters here are bored and highly cynical, or at least that's the side of themselves they like to portray here.

Part of the problem is that such an open intro post like yours can come across as being from a troll who's trying to pretend he's new here and naive.

You can get decent specific advice in the tech forums, though.

As for OT, I'd recommend spending some time reading through it so you get a better idea of the tone of all the clowns and self-rated geniuses here.
