Just start with the Z-5500's and you'll begin to experiance hifi. Then wait till you can get the Creative X-fi USB and you'll have some of the best speakers money can buy.

I honestly think that there are no better speakers for an average sized room. If you have bigger applications, then it makes sense for needing more powerful speakers.
