Liberating? Oh yeah. The extinction of a coping mechanism. A little bit of unnecessary clutter taken from my personality. One less thing I need and more freedom.

I know how hard it is to quit.
I quit chewing cold turkey on Dec. 10, 2002. The first week was the only time I had any trouble. I guess I just got so tired of dipping that my revulsion to the habit exceeded any addiction to nicotine that I had.

To Jokersmoker, congrats! I wish my wife could quit smoking. What method did you use?

Congrats!! I'm going on my 9th Day of quitting.... (Well I haven't actually quit... I bummed a few lights over the weekend, but thats it')

But comparetively speaking i'm doing good since I used to be a pack a day smoker of Camel Turkish Gold 100's. I've been smoking for about 3 years. The money I saved is incredible. And my urge to smoke and the habits I'm used to get smaller and easier to handle with each passing day.

I'm also hitting the gym religiously and this is the best I've ever felt at the gym. I haven't gone to the gym in the past 3 months due to laziness, but I think I'm going to reach my former strenght very quickly seeing how I'm not smoking a pack a day anymore. I actually started weightlifting when I started smoking (at the time I was a very occasional smoker). The gains I'm going to witness inthe gym are going to be phenomenal. I can't wait.
