Interviewing

"just following up on this, please let me know" while responding to the email you originally sent him.

We need dates here!

When did he ask when you are available? When did you reply? What date did you say?

He asked me two days ago in the morning, I replied that evening when I got home.

I responded with a question to him saying "Are you available on 8/9/2012 sometime after 12PM?"

Did I make a mistake here?

No, I don't think you made a mistake.

I would wait until at least tomorrow night before responding. He may be planning to call and is just forgetful/rude and didn't respond.

On another note, I would recommend giving multiple times for a week into the future, just in case your first suggested time doesn't work for him.

Honestly a lot of interviewers get swamped by the sheer number of people they have to contact and keep track of. If he doesn't call tomorrow, I'd email him saying that you understand he is busy and list some other times you are available while stating you are still interested in the position. He'd probably email back and say "Sorry, I missed your email" or something.

But that is just my opinion.

you messed up. he asked when you're available. instead of a firm answer you respond back with a question. it shows weakness in decision making, a lack of confidence.
