interviewing over AIM?

so this company wants to conduct an interview for a summer internship position that I applied to over an Instant Messenger. It is sort of a unique start-up company related to technology

what can I expect?

It is the first round.

well, it's just the first round. They want to evaluate my written communication skills.. I'm assuming that's the whole point of this 1st round interview

That reminds me of one time at work, I went to someone's desk to do some support on their computer and he had his Yahoo messenger window up. His name was 9INCHESANDTHICK. LOL. I fixed his issue and got the hell out of there and washed my hands.
