Interviewed for 3 jobs....waiting on offers...

So I interviewed for some jobs. I'm eager about getting offers from 2 of them. I expect an offer this week from one because I know I was the last interview and processing time is roughly a week. My references were all tagged by the company.

The other company I'm interested in has not contacted me since the interview, but they have a much larger HR office with potential interviews after mine. Should I write an Email to the recruiter and ask him for a status update? I figure something along the lines of, 'I interviewed 2.5 weeks ago and would like to know whether or not I'm still a candidate...if you could give me an estimate on when I'll be contacted, <lumberg>that'd be greeeeat......mmmmkay?</lumberg>'

My concern is that I know one pays less than the other, but has more benefits. I want to get them side by side to compare and make appropriate offers to equalize what I'm offered as much as possible through $$$. I don't want a bid war...just want to do my 10 years experience justice rather than letting an HR office push me around based on entry-level pay for any one paygrade.

Not counting on much.....I'm already employed...just moving 200 miles away either now or sometime in the next 2 years....whenever the market allows. I have nothing loose, only something to gain. 😛

Who said anything about getting loose?

Yeah, 2.5 weeks is serious time. Ask them what's up.

I'd have waited no more than 1.5 weeks to ask.

Seriously? I would be calling back every 3 to 4 days.

Well...this one is for a healthcare job. The HR office is 3 people for over 15 hospitals and their headquarters operations. I'm sure it takes a few weeks to get things processed in an outfit like that. I know what it's like in government jobs, but can't imagine staffing people distributed in so many locations. The official 3 week mark will be this Friday... Rather than an Email, I may give them a call then.

I work for THE MAN. THE MAN doesn't do anything in 3 to 4 days.

When I interviewed for the grocery store job in high school, I called back 1 or 2 days later and I got the job because I was the first to call (my manager told me straight up).

But for THE MAN, no more than 1.5 weeks... probably more like 1 week.
