I agree, people shouldn't change their opinions just for political gain.

Oh wait.....

I was never phased by that comment. NEWS FLASH: POLITICIANS SAY WHAT THEIR AUDIENCES WANT TO HEAR! IT GETS THEM VOTES AND MONEY!

Obama's done the exact same thing albeit with much less offensive material (well, unless you count Guantanamo bay).

But Mitt was a rich, Republican hell-spawn Corporate demon and Obama was all hopey-changey again, and I've got to hand it to Obama he's got charisma. Like that wood-toned plastic that's so well molded the uninformed think it's actual wood, and then defend it as such after they buy it to justify their purchase.

Obama does not have charisma. He is uptight, impersonal, cold and off putting. Fortunately for him, his opponent was even less likable and had a needy, phoney bologna personality. Even republicans didn't like him and hard the darnedest of times choosing him in the primaries.

I have to agree with you on this. obama is full of hate, He spreads fear mongering about the disaster that comes from spending cuts and he stirs up resentment towards the rich. He still believes in the racial politics and somehow whites are the biggest threat to blacks. Tell him your a Conservative or Libertarian and watch the reaction you will get from him.

He truly is a disgusting human being and a pathetic excuse for a human being. obama was and always will be a piece of shit.

Many of his supporters actually believe that and he hasn't done much to prove the stupidity of that claim. The congressional black and hispanic caucus both want more minorities. There both idiots and dont understand the best person should get the job instead they want it based on race

So would you agree that he doesn't base his job picks based on race?

I don't get why they're interviewing this random bartender.

Not all or enough of them since the idiots at the cbc are angry with him. He picks people who have similar views as him but he also wants more blacks and hispanics though

Kind of historic since it help doom Mitt's campaign.

BTW - Did you have this kind of indignation Fox News running endless coverage of James O'Keefe faking his Acorn tape vs one interview??

why is it the kneejerk reaction to respond "but Fox..."?

I had no reaction to that endless coverage as I do not watch Fox News.

this just seems like a silly interview... but maybe appropriate that he couldn't get higher billing than The Ed Show.

My point is why is this less newsworthy then James O'Keefe esp since his tape was doctored??

The absolute worst thing about this video is that it didn't sink his campaign harder. Only a complete shit of a person saw this and still supported mitts.

So you have some historic evidence of your own that proves that's what Mitt actually thinks and that he wasn't just pandering to a private audience?

If he actually believes it, it's terrible. If he was merely pandering, I'm sad for him that he felt he had to act like a total asshole to the audience in front of him, as a spineless piece of clay might. His talking points were Rush Limbaugh level rubbish that one would normally expect to hear from barely literate high school drop outs. It was not at all intelligent or novel, just nonsense.

So, in either case it was unpresidential--whether he believed it or whether he behaved like he believed it for the audience.

That's a fair perspective, but I'd say that pandering such bullshit is the daily bread of any presidential election. Hate to say it, and I wish it would change, but money wins votes. In a close election, if I was behind closed doors (everyone seems to forget this was a private event) and though I was safe, I'd swear off the Constitution itself if a room full of multi-millionaires would give me enough money to perhaps win.

I certainly wouldn't maintain such views once in office, but the only way for a good person to fundamentally change the system is from the inside, and to do that said good people might have to endure crawling through a tunnel of shit to get there. Not saying Mitt was a good person, just that he shouldn't be faulted for playing the only viable game there is.

I agree that politicians say a lot of things to donors that they wouldn't say in public. I'd say that it's unlikely that candidates say things such as this very often, no matter the venue, as showing total contempt for the electorate is a pretty surefire way to lose an election and you never know who is watching (like in this case!).

Here is my putting this in the who gives a S category,

Personally I don't see what the big deal about Romney's comment was other than the libs and leeches got their panties in a bunch cause Mitt spoke the truth, shame that people have a hard time dealing with reality and instead bleat on about how it is so "wrong" or hateful.

The conservatives can dismiss, ridicule and minimize the damage that clip caused after the fact, but it must have had an appreciable effect on those many fence sitting voters that were sorely needed by the Romney campaign who used that clip as the deciding factor to vote for Obama.

Just as many conservative pundits underestimated the superlative job Obama's army of grass roots orgainzers were doing, so too did they underestimate the effect that video clip had on swing voters. It literally amazed me that Romney's organizers and those Repubs in influential positions of power were shocked that Romney lost. Talk about them looking through Rove colored glasses, and it seems to be the only logical explanation.

Put that 47% incident within the context of whatever else was happening at that time and the effect it had got magnified exponentially. What with Repub led suppression and disenfranchisement efforts going on and Romney either contradicting himself or stepping on his tongue every time he had a chance among other Repub goofs and gaffs, that 47% clip simply tipped the scales in Obama's favor.

Let's not forget that Obama won handily, and he won with numbers that most forecasters could not ever imagine happening.
