Intervideo (WinDVD) can bite me!!!!

This POS company has limited the downloaded software I paid $30 for to 30 activations.I have revamped my system more times than I can remember.Every time I had to go online and get an activation registry file for WinDVD. That wasn't a problem-a meer inconvenience.

Well it seems I have done this 30 times over the last 18 months and customer service has informed me that they will not reset my activations. That's it! End of discussion. I e-mailed them again-same result. The only way to get this product I paid for to work is to fork over ANOTHER $10 for a hard copy of a program I already have on file. This $10 is for shipping-yeah,right.Needless to say, I'm not about to pay another $10 to get a cd shipped to me so I can use a $30 product I paid for and have on file. This program is worthless to me now-so be it.Nothing was said about activation limits when I purchased this product for download.Seems like this company might have a jump on Microsoft's WPA when it comes to undermining the rights of the buyer with regards to his/her rights to the purchase.

Stay away from Intervideo software-this company deserves to go down!

Thanks -I have PowerDVD,too. Just letting off steam and bringing Intervideo's corporate policy to the most influential folks I know!

Nah, most of the warez versions have the reduced audio options, and Intervideo takes over the handling of sound through WMP. I'm guessing that 5.1 sound would be disabled in most cases. I like PowerDVD myself.

While on the subject of PowerDVD, I'm having problems getting hardware support to work. My GeForce2 has hardware motion compensation, but I can't enable the option in PowerDVD, which is bloody annoying as the playback is nowhere near as smooth as WinDVD even on my Athlon 1.5 with 512Mb of DDR.

I'd be happy using WinDVD, only it doesn't have an option to adjust the aspect ratio to a pan & scan type like PowerDVD does.

Any ideas?
