Intersting item on ebay...

I heard that is how they work in general, but I would be leary of buying any of these unless I knew someone who already had one that worked on my cable system.

ITs legal to own one and just not use it... or something like that. There is some loophole or something that isnt worth looking into.

ATTENTION: Because the Cable Company has no way of telling you are using this product you need to notify them of any movie purchases

What the heck is that supposed to mean?

I believe that's known as an "ass-covering" so cable companies don't sue his brains out.
Something of that nature.

THIS COMES WITH A 30 DAY MONEY BACK GUARANTEE (less shipping and handling) NO QUESTIONS ASKED, THE LONGEST ON EBAY

I would have to see this actually work before i bought it. Or even thought about it for that manner

I'll chip in $1 PayPal towards a fund to purchase and try it. I'll even volunteer to try it!

His feedback is decent, only 3 negative vs. 100+ positives....you'd think a non-working-as-advertised product would garner more negative comments, so........ ???

That filter probby works just as said.. but, it will get defeated with a new firmware update on the cable boxes.. I'm sure they could add something in the cable box that checks for 2way communication.

thats some small descrambler...is the form of cable where you plug in a cable from outside onto your tv without needing any sort of receivers called analog cable?

eBay should ban him...

It is illegal to steal things that don't belong to you, watching those channels without paying for them is theft.

Sigh...

Why should ebay ban him for something he's not doing (the theft of cable as you call it)?

He's not stealing the cable (well, he might be, but we don't know that). He's selling a product that can be used to steal cable.

I don't think Ebay will ban him, nevertheless that product is designed SOLELY for stealing cable programming and has no other purpose.

he's selling something that is perfectly legal. ebay would have no reason to bad him. now whether or not it works is another story. i'm guessing it doesn't, in which case, ban away.

That's true. There is a 99.999999% chance that he will use it to steal cable. However, the crime should be the one that's illegal, not the tool. Owning things shouldn't be illegal (in most cases), it should be the action.

I agree and that is why Ebay will not ban him.

The item being sold has no useful purpose other than to commit theft.

He is selling a product which has no other purpose other than to steel cable. This has no other useful function.

This is why the cracked reciever cards for DSS boxes are illegal and banned from Ebay.

This will not work on Optimum Cablevision, they have two way communications with the digital cable boxes, they will know the instant you plug it in.
