To me, its seems crazy and nonsensical. Unions are fine just dont get in my face with it.

Furthermore, the feds need to keep their noses out of states rights and let the people decide what is right or wrong. :colbert:

And while we're at it, black people should have separate water fountains too.

I mean, I don't care if black people want to drink water or eat in restaurants, or send their children to school. Just don't get in my face with it.
 
Sorry but being against gay or interracial marriage shows bigotry and fascism. Let people do whatever the hell they want for Pet's sake. Now polygamy I have a problem with because it always ends up with someone marrying their 14 year old cousin.
 
So is your argument that there is no real difference between men and women, or that there is a real difference between black people and white people?

Also, could you please provide a foolproof system of determining a person's race? One-drop rule maybe? What race do Arabs count as? Does Hispanic count as a race? White hispanics?

I think religion is more responsible for underage marriage than polygamy.

Excellent post. When I lived in Southwest Virginia with my wife I dealt with bigoted/racist comments from both white and black people as my wife is a medium brown color. Thankfully here in Houston there's enough of a Southeast Asian population so it's not noticed. I also think living in a small town in Southwest Virginia played a part in my daughter (gay) choosing to live in Denver after she got out of the Army rather than dealing with the comments.

Actually if you think about there is something screwed up about not allowing 14 year olds to marry.

If a 14 year old girl gets pregnant liberals would throw themselves before her worshiping whatever choice she personally feels is right for her.

Seems pretty hard to then argue she isn't old enough to consent to marriage.

What does my statement have to do with the 14th Amendment?

In order for you to think there is a valid comparison between interracial and same-sex marriage you have to believe either that:

(1) There is a fundamental difference between a white person and black person

(2) There is no fundamental difference between a man and a woman.

So basically you have to be either (1) a racist or (2) an idiot. I was attempting to inquire which the OP was.
