Interpreting SQLIOSim Output

I'm using SQLIOSim to do some stress testing of my virtual servers prior to putting SQL 2005 on them. I've found 2 random blogs that detail the output of the tool, but I am hoping someone who is familiar with the app could explain a bit more about how to interpret the results. In particular, one of the blogs mentions that the "Running Average IO Duration (ms) = " value should be between 4 and 8 ms, which is no where near what I am getting. They, however, do not link back to where they found this info.
