I just reset my cable modem and it seems to have corrected the issue. But, here is my problem, web pages don't always come up, and when they do it might take a LONG time. A lot of the times I just get the page cannot be displayed error. The thing is, if I have my usenet program running in the background I can hit a constant 600KB/s. I let that run for hours and it didn't seem to drop in speed even once, but the entire time I was unable to access most web pages I tried to go to. I rebooted the PC and didn't start Grabit (usenet) and the same issue popped up.

What am I missing here? Seems to me if my usenet works this steady I shouldn't have any problems elsewhere.

use the command tool nslookup and type in websites, you should get an IP address back quickly. If not, probably slow DNS servers. Also the usenet could be overwhelming your router and connection giving the symptoms you describe.

Thanks, I was actually thinking about setting up OPENDNS the other night and forgot. without usenet running it still wasn't working but a simple reboot of the router seems to have fixed it.

OpenDNS isn't really all its chocked up to be.
It isn't really any faster unless your isp's servers are really really slow.
and there ad stuff that you get when you mistype a domain is annoying.
