My DSL connection at home is a pain in the ass, dropping connection every 10 minutes for just a few seconds. Had 2 techs out there, replaced the modem, ran a direct line from the pole to the modem, etc. I haven't had a chance to be on the PC at home much, but I am able to VNC in and would like to install some sort of internet uptime monitoring utility, that will keep a log of when it was unable to access the internet.
I know the poor mans way of doing this would be to ping an address with -t and then > to a text file, but that doesn't put time and date stamps does it?
